Here's the all-new 2018 Honda Odyssey

Published on January 30 2017

Introduced as a world premiere a few weeks ago at the Detroit International Auto Show, the new 2018 Honda Odyssey is equipped with the latest safety and connectivity technologies while being more efficient and versatile. When it hits the market in the spring, the new 2018 Odyssey will be able to fulfill all the needs of families in search of the ideal vehicle for family trips.

A more efficient for the 2018 Honda Odyssey

The 2018 Honda Odyssey will be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that develops 280 horsepower, an increase of 32 horsepower compared to the Honda minivan’s previous generation. This power will be routed to the wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission in most versions while a 10-speed automatic can be found in the high-end Touring model. Thanks to a lighter structure and several other improvements, the 2018 Honda Odyssey promises to impress with its fuel economy.

The 2018 Honda Odyssey will also feature three all-new technologies which include:

This feature controls the heating, navigation system and rear entertainment system with an application installed on our smartphone.

The CabinTalk system allows you to chat with the passengers in the rear seats without raising your voice using the speakers or headphones in the rear entertainment system.

The CabinWatch function keeps an eye on passengers in the second and third rows of seats with a camera. That way, you know all the time what is happening behind you.

The 2018 Honda Odyssey also benefits from a new rear-seat entertainment system that is now equipped with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi feature. You can also use a public Wi-Fi or use your cellular data plan to stream videos online. The rear entertainment system is integrated into a 10.2-inch screen that also includes the "How Much Farther?" feature which allows occupants in the rear to know how much time remains on the trip.

The 2018 Honda Odyssey will also be equipped with the latest technologies in driver assistance including Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS™), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

Finally, the new minivan will be equipped with unique seats in the second row which feature what Honda is calling its Magic Slide function. The latter greatly facilitates access to the third row while improving the comfort of all passengers and the overall versatility of the passenger compartment.
